God created man there was no evil
in that. Man had a heart and mind and soul
and freedom most of all to decide
what good or bad will emanate from love.
Fr. Arnel was young yet in his youth
he had the age of ideals and truth.
Sister Ester’s concern in a prayer
she read seemed to her that disobedience
was made by God so that His mercy might
be received by man; he did not believe
that God would create a contrary thing.
Evil is rooted in the heart so God
did not condemn the nakedness of sin
that Adam and Eve committed; instead
He cursed the snake. The brothers were pardoned,
too, both the wastrel and the jealous one
because they had a forgiving father.
The problem with man was that he was ill
at ease with paradise he had to find
an alibi in a woman who said
the snake made her do it, so he did, too.
Conventional is now the battlecry
and it has found favor with followers
of what used to be abundance of grace
until the fall. It is a blessed call
that Mary followed a fiat so that
Satan can no longer pull his power
over those who flee to her protection.
