Vatican City. On Thursday, 22nd of December 2016, the Osservatore Romano reported that Pope Francis has authorized the Congregation for the Cause of the Saints to publish the Decree of the next beatification of the Spanish Martyrs Fr. Mateo Casals, student Teófilo Casajús, Br. Fernando Saperas and their 109 companions, all belonging to the Congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Claretians), martyred due to hatred of the faith between 1936 and 1937.
Before this extraordinary news, we feel the need to thank God for the longed-for goal that the Congregation has achieved and that reinforces its missionary spirit. We pray for the Holy Father that his toil and hardship achieve the expected results and that the Church, guided by him, continue in peace in its way to the announced and expected Kingdom.
