Gospel: Mt 7:15-20
Beware of false prophets: they come to you in sheep’s clothing; but inside, they are voracious wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Do you ever pick grapes from thorn bushes; or figs, from thistles? A good tree always produces good fruit. A rotten tree produces bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit; and a rotten tree cannot bear good fruit. Any tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruit.Reflections
He promised to keep this Covenant according to what was written in the book with all his heart and with all his soul Upon their return from Assyrian exile, the Israelites rebuild their city and their lives. In doing so they find the Book of the Law, the Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament. King Josiah gathers all the people of Israel, reads from the Torah and renews his people’s covenant with the Lord. We, too, are exiled every now and then from all that is precious to us and from our true selves. Grace leads us back home where we rediscover God in our lives. Grace has a way of refinding us and renewing us.© Copyright Bible Diary 2018
