Mt 28:16–20
As for the eleven disciples, they went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Jesus, they bowed before him, although some doubted.
“All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”
REFLECTION
READ: The first reading describes a God who creates, saves and continuously unfolds his kindness before humanity’s eyes. The second reading illustrates a God who is so close to us that one is led to call him “Abba,” which means “Father.” The gospel summarizes our understanding of God as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, assuring us of his eternal presence as we observe all his commandment, his mandate to love for he is one God who is love!
REFLECT: We profess our faith every Sunday to the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. But this Sunday we make more special our profession to the Trinity to anchor ourselves unto the only One God that we have, that is, as we nurture the Spirit of the Love that binds them (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) as One. How do I relate then these days with my parents, brothers and sisters? How do I relate with my environment, my co-workers, friends and acquaintances? How is my relationship with myself and my God?
PRAY: We see a lot of people hungry and living miserably but the saddest situation we experience today is the hunger of love and affections. Father, you labor each day to save us from our destruction. You continuously create and recreate us to enjoy the fullness of our being as your children. Keep us steadfast in our faith in you, solidify us with hope and never separate us from your love. Amen.
ACT: Keep the Lord’s commandment to love one another! Provide any form of assistance that would empower your problematic brother or sister.
