The morning after Wednesday I received
a text that was a multiple of text
messages that were, unlike the previous ones,
frantic. And made me think what could they mean.
Until a final call confirmed I had
to meet with Becky on such short notice.
I realized my worry over not
being ready was unnecessary
for she herself was acting on a spur.
I grabbed my bag and took a tricycle
to hasten my arrival. It wasn’t
hard to find her at Starbucks. She was one
of two coffee patrons of whom I was
the third. It was our second meeting yet
it seemed we were like two old friends feeling
good to see each other again. Indeed
when hearts made kindred by PREX and also
Mary’s legion reunite, there’s rapture
that only faith and love can recognize.
And so before and during capuccino
we talked of stuff and shared sentiments
common to families striving to be
whole and holy. She almost made me cry
and stopped her before we flooded the place.
We rose to leave the Café, I offered
to continue the company til where
she shopped across the street. She smiled sweetly
there was no need for on Monday we meet.
