When God created man It was made clear
that free will will be followed by the fault
that will will always choose for bad and good
are made by man according to his mood.
My brothers do me harm because I do
the same to them although not always through
a tit-for-tat relationship all humans
seem to have. The essence of a sin,
entirely human, has a saving grace,
repentance, a necessary factor
for forgiveness, to make man live again.
It is a given, words will emanate
from flower-bearing righteousness that roams
the august halls of churches, words that hurt
or drive away. It does not mean they’re meant
to kill; rewarding is God’s main domain.
When giving brings back memories of pain
perhaps what went was not sincerely heart
but stained by thoughts of self-indulgences;
to give is to forget the self as well.
To serve and at the same time deem one less
than slaving because the other poses
a perception of more than mastery
is not serving at all from both servers.
To think one worthier than anyone
is worse than acting like the emperor.
I’m all of these, O Lord, and if my friends
were guilty, too, the blame is mine alone.
