On Monday, the Vatican has announced on its website the appointments of new members in the following offices: the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences, and the Secretary General of the Pontifical Lateran University.
Appointment of members of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See. This office administers the goods proper to the Holy See, the income from which is destined to support thee expenditures necessary for the functions of the Roman Curia.
The Holy Father has appointed as members of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See His Eminence Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and His Eminence Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples.
Appointment of members of the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences. The Committee is charged with promoting the use of ecclesiastical archives for historical research and fostering cooperation with ecclesiastical and extra-ecclesial institutions and associations, particularly at the international level.
The Holy Father has appointed as members of the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences: the Reverend Fr. Augustin Laffay, O.P., archivist of the Order of Preachers; the Reverend Sr. Nicoletta Vittoria Spezzati, A.S.C., historical consultor of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints; and the distinguished Professor Antal Molnár, director of the Historical Institute at the Research Centre for the Humanities of the National Research Council of Budapest.
Appointment of the Secretary General of the Pontifical Lateran University. The University is also known as Lateranum or as the “Pope’s University”, which hosts the central session of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family.
The Holy Father has appointed the distinguished Dr. Immacolata Incocciati as secretary general of the Pontifical Lateran University.
