INVOLVEMENT
“I know of no single formula for success. But over the years I have observed that some attributes of leadership are universal and are often about finding ways of encouraging people to combine their efforts, their talents, their insights, their enthusiasm and their inspiration to work together.” – Queen Elizabeth
We require a new and universal solidarity. “Everyone’s talents and involvement are needed to redress the damage caused by human abuse of God’s creation”. All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents. (Pope Francis, LS #14)
REFLECTION: Creation and involvement are very much related to each other. But involvement is commonly known as sharing, engagement, and participation. It is also to become part of the lives of others, so it must be very clear to us how the word involvement is closely connected with nature and creation. We are the ones who are involved in the creation itself and that we must continue to involve ourselves in protecting, nourishing and loving all the creations of God. So, all He is asking from us is that we must take good care of them for the benefit of all.
Key Statement: Involvement is commonly known as sharing, engagement, and participation.
Personal Challenge: I must involve myself in the works of caring the earth.
PRAYER
God of presence, we thank You for the breath of life and a heart that loves. Empower us to participate actively in the task of reducing, reusing and recycling the resources of the earth. Guide us to work hand in hand with our fellows in creating a sustainable environment. Amen.
